Interesting Alex, I watched a British documentary on the 'last stand of the druids' and what struck me was that the Romans seemed to be portrayed as enlightened liberators while the druids were more your superstitious heathens. I remember thinking at the time that this was a curious depiction of a priestly class that were after all representative of the indigenous religion of Britain. Not that I particularly see myself as a druid, though I do like trees. Thanks for the poem. All the best.
